Community Engagement Event - Art at Crosswalks in Downtown Durham

You are invited to participate! Your voice matters!

Three local artists have been selected by the Durham SmART Initiative to create design proposals for ground plane art installed around pedestrian crosswalks on Foster, Corcoran and Blackwell Streets. Durham Area Designers are hosting a drop-in session so you can meet the artists, view the proposed sites, and share your perspective, including current use and historical background.

Engagement with you and with the historical materials will assist the artists as they develop their designs. Please stop by!

This project launches Phase 2 of the Durham SmART Initiative, a partnership of Durham Arts Council, Downtown Durham Inc, the City of Durham and the North Carolina Arts Council, and has been awarded an NEA Art Works Grant.
