CAROLINA THEATRE-CONVENTION CENTER PLAZA

In reimagining the public space that extends from the Carolina Theatre - Convention Center Plaza and Morgan Street Gateway, the proposed plans seek to honor the historic architecture and create a sense of versatility for community events, public art, performance space, and a water feature. 

KEY FEATURES

This large plaza that is surrounded by the Durham Convention Center, the Durham Armory, and the historic Carolina Theatre is a significant cultural civic space.  Art paving and lighting, water features and performance spaces will be developed to enhance the surrounding buildings and create an active and welcoming space. 

Artists invited to work on this project will engage the interactive and event-driven qualities of the space.
